Founded in 1909 in Monterrey, Mexico, Vitro, S.A.B. de C.V., is one of the world’s leading glass manufacturers, the largest in the Western Hemisphere and the premier glass producer in Mexico. With subsidiaries throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, Vitro produces, processes, distributes and markets a wide range of glass products that are part of daily life for millions of people across the globe. 

Throughout the Company’s history, Vitro has demonstrated a commitment to developing industry-leading technologies through continuous research and development initiatives and investments. This fundamental, integrated focus on developing new products and technologies has produced a product portfolio that spans multiple industries, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, automotive and commercial construction. The Company also is a supplier of raw materials, machinery and equipment for industrial use.

Recently, Vitro’s acquisition of PPG Flat Glass and Pittsburgh Glass Works reinforced the company’s commitment to excellence in glass manufacturing, research and development and sustainability while cementing the company’s global leadership position in the commercial, residential, specialty and automotive glass markets. The integration of these entities into the Vitro organization strengthens the company’s portfolio with industry-leading brands and technologies, including Solarban® solar control low-emissivity glass, Starphire Ultra-Clear® Glass, WeatherMaster® heated windshields and doors as well as proprietary oxygen-fuel furnace technology for improved environmental performance in the glass manufacturing process.
