Application vs. Process




Media Applications>
Consistency in the Vitro identity application throughout the various internal and external media, will allow a greater market penetration, enabling the positioning of the Vitro corporate brand in consumers’ minds.

Media Application> Application vs. Process

The following chart features a list of possible applications of the Vitro logo as to various processes and reproduction media, stating recommended applications and their reproduction variations. The latter must have the prior written authorization of the Corporate Identity Management.

Media Applications> Applications

Conveying correctly Vitro’s identity in the following detailed visual media is essential in order to establish consistency in its application. This standardization will ensure a distinction and a perception of firmness and integrity from the public.

The guidelines shown in this section are complementary to those established in the Corporate Brand section of this Manual, consequently it is necessary to consult the complete set of standards of the corporate Vitro brand before conducting any application different to the examples shown here.

 

Applications> Institutional

 

  • Business Cards and Stationary

All Vitro companies with access to the e-Procurement System must acquire their institutional stationary and business cards through such System.

 

  • Commercial Stationary

Vitro maintains commercial relationships with third parties such as distributors and franchisees that sell Vitro’s products, which through a formal written agreement grants them a license for the use of the Vitro corporate brand and its commercial trademarks. All contracts of this nature must be validated by Vitro’s Legal Department.

For business cards or stationary with Vitro identity, destined for these particular commercial purposes, the following should be considered:

• The commercial trademark’s identity, corresponding to a product, franchise or store concept developed by Vitro, is the sole responsibility of the marketing area of the corresponding Vitro company.

• The use of typography, colors and element disposition on stationary is the responsibility of the marketing area from the corresponding Vitro company.

• The Vitro identity application must follow the guidelines established in the Branding menu, in which the combined usage of the commercial trademark and the corporate brand is regulated.

• The Vitro Corporate Brand guidelines should always be observed and adhered to.

• Any and all designs that plan to include the Vitro identity must be submitted to the Corporate Identity Management for their prior authorization

  • Continuous Forms

Continuous forms are generally related to invoices, checks and other seriated documents. These guidelines are applicable to all of the Vitro companies, unless for local regulatory reasons they must use an electronic invoice system.

Any situation different to what is set forth herein, should be addressed to the Corporate Identity Management for proper and prior authorization.

Continuous forms should follow the next visual identity guidelines:

• The Vitro logo should be placed on the upper left side of the forms, as shown on the image below.


• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo color should be PMS Silver 877.

• The Vitro logo can not be used as a "water mark" on continuous forms or in any other application.

• Using the Vitro symbol on continuous forms is prohibited.

• The institutional typography Swis721 BT should be used for the form’s body, using upper and lower case letters.

 

  • Identification

In most of the Vitro companies, a same ID system is used for personnel and contractors.

     

  • Personnel ID

• The Vitro logo should be placed on the upper right side of the badges, as shown on the image below.

• The company name should be placed on the lower right side of the badges, as shown on the image below, aligned in the center with the Vitro logo.

• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo color should be PMS Cool Gray 7.

• The only logo that should appear on the badges is the Vitro logo; do not use the individual company commercial trademark logo.

  • Visitors and Contractors

• The Vitro logo should be placed on the lower left side of the badges, as shown on the image below.

• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo color should be PMS Cool Gray 7.

• The only logo that should appear on the badges is the Vitro logo.

• The box containing the letter “V” can vary its color, in order to develop a color code for different classifications of visitors.

 

  • Uniforms

Plant personnel´s uniforms must be navy blue color by designation of Vitro´s Executive Office Committee; considering some exceptional cases where material management may demand a color alternative; in any case, written authorization from the Procurement Direction and the corresponding Human Resources Direction is needed.

• The Vitro logo should always be printed or embroidered on the upper left side of the shirt.

• The company name should be placed on the upper right side.

• The Vitro logo should not be smaller than the company name.

• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The color of the Vitro logo and the company name should be PMS Silver 877; in case of embroidery, the thread must match this color.

 

• Additionally, helmets and caps should include the Vitro logo in PMS Silver 877 on the front.

• In any case, the area of isolation should be respected.

 

  • Vehicles

The Vitro identity must be applied to all utility company vehicles, according to the following guidelines:

• The Vitro logo should always be placed at the center in both front doors.

• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo color should be PMS Silver 877.

• The Logo reproduction process for vehicle applications must be in a cut vinyl sticker, with vinyl color equivalent to PMS Silver 877 must be selected.

• The Logo must be placed on flat surfaces; if not possible the Corporate Identity Management should be consulted for a possible solution.

Applications> Advertising

  • Packaging and Labels

Vitro product packaging and labels must apply Vitro’s identity by using the Vitro corporate brand, or the Branding application when used for a product with a commercial trademark.

The Vitro brand application guidelines must be consulted in the Corporate Brand section, as well as the Branding guidelines found in the Commercial Brand section.

 

  • Promotional Items, Advertisement and Billboards

The Vitro corporate brand and branding system guidelines must be respected at all times, including the following.

• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo color should be PMS Silver 877.

• The minimum reproduction size for the Vitro logo must be respected; in case there is the need to apply the Vitro identity on extremely small objects, consult "The Logo" menu on the Corporate Brand section of this Manual.

• If in any of these media other logos besides the Vitro logo appear, the Vitro logo should always have a privileged position and a larger size than the others.

• For any of these media applications that include the Vitro identity by branding a commercial trademark, prior written authorization from the Corporate Identity Management at identidadvisual@vitro.com is required.

  • Repetitive Patterns

Repetitive patterns should be applied as shown in the image below, and they must conform to the next visual identity guidelines:

• The Vitro logo color should be PMS Silver 877.

• Only in repetitive patterns, can the Vitro logo size be changed, and only to visually improve its reproduction on different items.

In any and every case, logo proportions must remain unaltered.

 

Applications> Outdoors

  • Facades

Vitro companies that apply the Vitro logo in their facades should conform to the following visual identity guidelines:

• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo should be applied in PMS Cool Gray 7, when using paint directly on walls.

•When reproducing the Logo in any of the other applications for facades described on the Application vs. Process menu (Metallic plate, mirror, sand blast, etc.) you must submit the corresponding proposal to the Corporate Identity Management for proper authorization.

• In addition to the Vitro logo, companies can use their own logo when it is a commercial trademark. Whenever the company logo is not a trademark, only the company name should be used next to the Vitro logo.

• The Vitro logo should never be smaller than the company logo.

 

  • Distributors

An agreement between distributors and Vitro sales’ representatives must be formalized to authorize the use of the Vitro logo in their facades. This agreement has to be approved and validated by Vitro's Legal Department.

Once the authorization has been granted, the Logo has to be applied according to the following guidelines:

• The "Distributor" or "Authorized Distributor" legend should be placed below the Vitro logo, as shown on the images below:

Additionally:

• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo should be applied on PMS Cool Gray 7; when using paint directly on walls.

• The Vitro logo should be applied with the ® symbol according to guidelines.

• The Vitro logo should only be placed on flat surfaces; if a distributor's facility facade has an irregular surface, a printed cover may be used.

For franchise facades or distribution centers that have adopted an identity concept created by Vitro, the identity application, from the trademark to the colors and distribution information, is the sole responsibility of the marketing area of the corresponding Vitro company.

In these cases, both the Corporate Brand and the Branding guidelines should be strictly applied and respected when using the Vitro logo with the corresponding commercial trademarks.

 

  • Railroad and Trailer Hopper Cars

Vitro’s identity must be applied in railroad and trailer hopper cars that transport Vitro’s raw materials or products, unless otherwise agreed to by the corresponding Vitro company and approved by Vitro’s Legal Department. Railroad and trailer hopper cars vary depending on their type however visual identity guidelines equally apply in every case, according to the following rules:

• The Vitro logo should always be placed at the center in both sides of the car with the legend "For the service of", as shown on the image below:

• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo should be applied on PMS Silver 877; if that is technically impossible, please see the color variation section of this Manual.

• The Vitro logo should be applied with the ® symbol according to guidelines

• The logo should only be placed on flat surfaces; if the hopper car has an irregular surface, a printed cover may be used.

 

  • Flags

Flags should conform to the next visual identity guidelines:


• The area of isolation should be respected.

• The Vitro logo color should be PMS Silver 877.

• If a company logo is also included on a flag, the Vitro logo should not be smaller than the company logo.
