The preservation of natural resources is fundamental in this park because it performs multiple ecological services that benefit the Metropolitan area’s population; such as: the proper management of water that avoids ground’s flooding and erosion. It produces oxygen, as well as sports, recreation, education and cultural services.
To achieve this objectives, Chipinque's Natural Resources and Research Management department, is to learn about biodiversity’s actual status to develop strategies designed to prevent, restore and mitigate the negative impacts of fire and erosion hazards or problems, due to pollution and the removal of natural resources.
In its commitment towards conservation, Chipinque performs, since 1994, environmental education activities aimed to promote, among the community, an approach to nature.
Strategic Objectives:
- To preserve and strengthen the ecosystem.
- To promote ecological education and culture among children and the community.
- To develop, promote and support culture and educational sports activities.
- Research and develop data to achieve sustainable development.
- To involve the community in the park’s promotion and preservation.
