Vitro founded OVIS in 1995.  This organization was created to focus on the research and preservation programs of flora and fauna. OVIS manages four protected natural areas located in the states of Baja California Sur, Sonora, Tamulipas and Nuevo León, where it implements permanent conservation programs for endangered species, such as the Mexican Grey Wolf and the Desert Bighorn Sheep.

OVIS is formed by a group of institutions and individuals, among which biologists, veterinarians, agronomists, technicians and scientists specialized on wildlife conservation are found.

OVIS is also supported by private, conservation, education and government institutions. All of these are committed to preserve world’s wild flora and fauna for future generations.

OVIS is focused on supporting professional students in the biological, natural resources’ preservation and similar areas. This is why it has developed the following programs:

  • Support pre- professionals to do their community service and undergraduate training in the following reservations: Los Ebanos, Tamaulipas; El Plomito, Sonora and Isla El Carmen. Baja California Sur.
  • Support degree and postgraduate students in their thesis making, in the following reservations: Los Ebanos, Tamaulipas; El Plomito, Sonora and Isla El Carmen. Baja California Sur.
