Duovent®
Responding to the demand on improved thermal and acoustic insulation, Vidrio Plano has developed Duovent units as an alternative solution to the traditional ones. Duovent units are two glass panes joined by a separator frame to confine air, with a drying agent.

The use of these units result in a considerable reduction of incoming summer heat and loss of indoor heat in winter. It also prevents the nuisance of clouded windows caused by the indoor-outdoor temperature differential.

Performance of Duovent units
Thermal insulation is the major feature of Duovent. The air space's sizing determines the extent of heat insulation, which reaches its peak at 12.7 mm. Additionally, we can incorporate color, reflective and laminated glass panes for a better control of penetrating sun rays.

Acoustic insulation, another feature of these units, is provided as required by each particular location.

Uses and applications
Duovent units are widely used in hospitals, schools, commercial or residential applications, and any building that requires environmental, thermal, and acoustic control.

Technical data
There are four parameters: inside´s air temperature, outside´s air temperature, inside´s relative humidity and thermal´s transmittance of glazing. If three of them are known, the fourth one can be determined. The intersection of two of the parameters is found in one part of the diagram and a horizontal line is projected across, to intersect the third known parameter. The point of intersection shows the value of the unknown. If we know the average winter exterior temperature and define the inside temperature and relative humidity, this diagram will be very useful. Thus we can obtain the maximum "U" value (thermal transfer coefficient) needed, so condensation does not occur.
