Vitro Glass Containers Inaugurates New Furnace

Vitro Glass Containers recently inaugurated its new furnace at its plant in Toluca, which will increase its capacity to serve the perfumery and liquor segments by more than 50 percent.

The new furnace represents an investment of $70 million dollars for a production of 230 tons per day.

With this installation, the Vitro Glass Containers plant in Toluca will be one of the largest in the world focused on glass containers for cosmetic products, premium liquors, and specialties.

It was designed and built with state-of-the-art technology to optimize its energy consumption and minimize CO2 emissions.

The new furnace, which represents an investment of $70 million dollars, strengthens Vitro's position as a provider of comprehensive solutions for its customers by offering glass manufacturing and value-added processes from a single operations center. Likewise, the company significantly increases its production, sales and export capacity for its current and potential markets globally.

The inauguration was attended by Vitro directors, authorities from the three levels of government, as well as representatives of various leading companies in the cosmetics, perfumery and premium liquor segments in North America.
